Recruitment e-Factor

A mathematical formula to help you prioritise the approach to your feeder schools based on the value they may offer you and the resistance you might receive.

What is it?

In essence this answers the following questions.

  • How useful could the school be to you?

  • How much of a barrier does this school present in the data?

What action(s) should it drive?

Working together to improve the robustness.

Make it even stronger:  This calculation can be enhanced by you!

  • You can choose to input into our calculation by sharing your experience of working with that school and the type of students you would normally recruit from there.  You will be sent thing data capture process after your order has been confirmed.  We will send you back the list of competitors and feeder schools we have identified.

  • Why?

With this information we can give you a more accurate list that takes into account personal relationships or other barriers that might be hidden underneath the data.  Equally it can demonstrate positives, or the signs of positivity!

How do we calculate it?

Everything in this calculation aims to find reasons why a school may be less relevant to a provider. We call this a publisher calculation, we are trying to find fault!

This includes:

  • Do they have a Sixth Form?

  • Do they have a low number of potential students?

  • Do you have a declining or static trend in recruitment from this area?

  • Do their students progress to a Sixth Form?

Can it be used to monitor performance?

Absolutely!  Once you have the report and have a score for each school, as part of your planning and as a team, you should start to allocate cautious but well positioned growth or stability a against eachy school,.

Can it be improved?

Unless the school makes a substantial change to one of the key factors such as having a Sixth Form, they are unlikely to dramatically alter their score.

We would anticipate thatchanges to scores positively opr negatively will happen slowly over time. It therefore needs to be recalculated annua,ly but it doesn't needmore regular monitoring.
